LIBRE ang ipinagkakaloob na serbisyo ng isang human rights lawyer sa mga biktima ng madugong \u201cwar on drugs\u201d na iwinasiwas ng administrasyong Duterte.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was engaged pro bono by the victims of the vicious “war on drugs” to uncover for them the truth,\u201d pahayag ni Atty Kristina Conti, International Criminal Court (ICC) Assistant to Counsel, National Union of People\u2019s Lawyers- National Capital Region (NUPL-NCR).<\/p>\n

Tugon ito ni Conti sa isinulat ni dating Presidential Spokesman Rigoberto Tiglao sa kanyang pitak sa Manila Times ngayon na inakusahan siyang tumatanggap ng bayad para siraan si dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.<\/p>\n

“Rumors are carried by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots,\u201d ani Conti sa kanyang Facebook post.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe article about me by Rigoberto Tiglao in the Manila Times dated May 13, 2024 is factually and maliciously incorrect. He is deluded, in saying I am paid to destroy Duterte for P8M a year, vaguely calculating remunerations by the ICC.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wala aniyang katibayan si Tiglao sa mga maling paratang at red-tagging sa kanya.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is apparent that Tiglao has no proof whatsoever of his false claims and red-tagging. His misunderstanding of the ICC is simplistic to the point of being moronic,\u201d giit ni Conti.<\/p>\n

Hiniling ng human rights lawyer na bawiin ang walang batayang mga pahayag ni Tiglao at humingi ng paumanhin ang pahayagan na naglathala ng kasuklam-suklam na pitak.<\/p>\n

\u201cI demand a retraction of these unfounded statements, and an apology from the newspaper for carrying this despicable piece,\u201d aniya.<\/p>\n

Naniniwala si Conti na desperadong hakbang ito upang pahinain ang kanyang trabaho bilang abogado ng mga biktima ng drug war ni Duterte at paninirang-puri sa kanyang pagkatao.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a desperate attempt to diminish my work with the victims of the “war on drugs”, to cast aspersions on my character,\u201d \u00a0sabi ni Conti.<\/p>\n

Kombinsido siya na naging epektibo at nasapol ng NUPL ang utak sa mga patayan at paglabag sa karapatang pantao at pang-aabuso.<\/p>\n

\u201cI believe that he – and whoever is behind this – view my work as NUPL-NCR secretary-general and of the NUPL on the whole has been effective at hitting at the masterminds of killings and human rights violations and abuses.\u00a0 Attacks against us tell us that we are, pun intended, right on the money,\u201d wika ni Conti.
