TERM EXTENSION NI MARBIL HANGGANG MATAPOS ANG 2025 POLLS

MALAKI ang tsansang papayagan ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. na mapalawig ang termino ni Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Rommel Marbil hanggang matapos ang 2025 midterm elections.

Nakatakdang magretiro si Marbil sa susunod na buwan pagsapit ng kanyang ika-56 kaarawan, ang mandatory age of retirement sa uniformed service.

“There is a very strong argument for Marbil’s term extension as”it would not be good for stability especially to change the chief PNP in the middle of a campaign period and then approaching an election period,” sabi ni Marcos Jr.

“So, we are studying it. But I think that is probably a very strong argument to keep him on, at the very least, until after the elections,” aniya.

Nagsimula ang election period noong Enero 12 at matatapos hanggang Hunyo 11, 2025.

Sa panahong ito ay ipinagbabawal ang “appointment, promotion, transfer or hiring of government personnel” alinsunod sa Commission on Elections (Comelec) resolution 10999 na inilabas noong Mayo 24, 2024. (ZIA LUNA)
