MAY halos isang taon pa ang puganteng Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) founder Apollo Quiboloy para paghandaan ang kanyang pagharap sa Los Angeles, California court sa mga kasong conspiracy to engage in sex trafficking by force, fraud, and coercion; sex trafficking of children; marriage fraud; fraud and misuse of visas; bulk cash smuggling; promotional money laundering; concealment money laundering; at international promotional money laundering.
Nabatid na iniurong ng District Court sa Central District of California ang pagdinig sa mga kaso ni Quiboloy sa 20 Mayo 2025, mula sa orihinal na schedule na 5 Nobyembre 2024.
Idinahilan ng mga abogado ng KOJC na may conflict sa schedule ng iba pang hawak nilang kaso sa LA.
Magpapatuloy ang status conference hearing mula 21 Oktubre 2024 hanggang 7 Abril 2025.
Ang lahat ng partido ay kailangan maghain ng “motions in limine” hanggang sa 10 Marso 2025, oppositions sa 24 Marso 2025 at replies sa 31 Marso 2025.
Ang Limine ay isang “pretrial motion made by attorneys to request that certain evidence be deemed inadmissible and excluded from trial to prevent prejudicial or irrelevant information from being presented to the jury.”
Maliban kay Quiboloy, akusado rin sina Guia Cabactulan, Marissa Duanes, Bettina Roces, Felina Salinas, at Amanda Estopare, lahat ay KOJC officials sa California.
Pinaghahanap pa rin ng mga awtoridad sina Quiboloy, Teresita Dandan, at Helen Panilag, pawang mga akusado sa tambak na kaso sa Amerika.
Matatandaan sinuspinde ng Los Angeles court ang paghatol kay Maria De Leon, isang paralegal at travel agent, na pumayag na sa isang settlement sa District Attorney’s Office kapalit ng pagbaba ng kanyang sentensya.
Ayon sa US Department of Justice, inamin ni De Leon ang kanyang partisipasyon na sa loob ng walong taon ay nakipagsabwatan siya para isagawa ang marriage fraud at visa fraud sa mga lider ng KOJC.
Itinanggi ng kampo ni Quiboloy na miyembro ng KOJC si De Leon.
Itinakda ng hukuman ang paghatol kay De Leon sa 27 Enero2025, batay sa mga dokumento ng korte. (ROSE NOVENARIO)
