Founder ng PGMN, arestado sa entrapment ops ng NBI

Inaasahang ilalabas anomang oras ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) ang ulat hinggil sa umano’y pagdakip sa founder ng Peanut Gallery Media Network (PGMN) na si Franco Mabanta at isa pang indibidwal sa isang entrapment operation dahil sa umano’y tangkang pangingikil kay dating House Speaker Martin Romauldez.

Noong Lunes ay inihain ni Bicol Saro Partylist Rep. Terry Ridon ang House Resolution 980, na humihiling na imbestigahan ng Kamara ang umano’y disinformation operations ng PGMN kasabay nang paghimok sa Bureau of Internal revenue (BIR) na silipin ang financial activities ng nasabing negosyo lalo na sa posibilidad na tax evasion.

“If these disinformation operations are monetized—and there are strong indications that they are—then the question is simple: are they properly declared, taxed, and regulated… Otherwise, this raises serious concerns of tax evasion,” ani Ridon.

Tinukoy sa resolution ang viral video sa PGMN na nagpakita ng umano’y biglang pagsirit ng mga bill sa Meralco pero magkaiba naman ang Customer Account Numbers (CANs).

“For ordinary Filipino households already burdened by high electricity costs, this is not just irresponsible—it is deceptive… Real issues should not be exploited through fabricated or misleading content,” sabi ni Ridon.

Binigyan diin ng kongresista na ang imbestigasyon ng Kamara ay naglalayong alamin kung mga nasabing aktibidad ay bahagi ng “organisado at sistematikong “disinformation” na nakatutok sa pagmanipula ng opinyon ng publiko sa mga pambansang  usapin.

“We will not allow legitimate public concerns to be weaponized by disinformation networks… This is about protecting the public—not only from fake news, but from coordinated operations that exploit real issues for influence, profit, or manipulation,” wika ni Ridon.# (RRN)
