NAGBIGAY na ng go signal ang Pre-Trial Chamber I ng International Criminal Court sa prosekusyon at defense teams para umpisahan na ang “disclosure of evidence” o ang paglalatag ng mga ebidensya hinggil sa kasong crimes against humanity laban kay dating pangulong RodrigoDuterte.
Layunin ng inilabas na direktiba ng ICC na matiyak na si Duterte ay “informed of the evidence on which the Prosecution intends to rely at the confirmation hearing [w]ithin a reasonable time.”
Hanggang Abril 4 ang ibinigay ng Pre-Trial Chamber sa prosekusyon upang ikasa ang ilang documentary evidence tulad ng mga larawan, video, audio recording gayundin ng transcript na gagamitin sa kaso.
“The Chamber is aware that Mr. Duterte’s position as to whether to object to the charges, challenge the Prosecution’s evidence and, in particular, present evidence pursuant to article 61(6) of the Statute will depend, to a large extent, on the disclosure of evidence by the Prosecution and the provision of the document containing the charges,” sabi ng PTC.
Habang ang defense team ay kailangan abisuhan ang PTC hanggang Abril 11 para ipakita sa prosekusyon kung magbibigay ng alibi at magsasagawa ba ng sariling imbestigasyon bago ang confirmation hearing. Ipinasusumite kaugnay nito ang ilan ding dokumento.
Hanggang April 2 naman ang ibinigay sa ICC Registry para asikasuhin ang proseso hinggil sa mga biktima at testigo na haharap sa pagdinig kabilang na ang kanilang application forms of application, identity documents, at legal representations. (ZIA LUNA)
