INAMIN ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. na hinimok niya ang mga mambabatas na huwag magsampa ng impeachment complaint laban kay Vice President Sara Duterte, dahil pag-aaksaya lamang ito ng oras at walang pakinabang sa mga Pilipino.
Sa isang panayam ng media sa Lucena, kinompirma ni Marcos Jr. na totoo ang nag-leak na komunikasyon tungkol sa kanyang apela kahapon, Nobyembre 28, at mariin niyang hindi sinang-ayunan ang impeachment talks, na tinawag itong “unnecessary distractions.”
“Well, it was actually a private communication, but na-leak na (it got leaked). Yes. Because that’s really my opinion,” sabi niya.
“This is not important. This does not make a difference to even one single Filipino life. So why waste time on it?” tanong niya.
“What will happen if somebody file an impeachment? It will tie down the House, it will tie down the Senate. It will just take up all their time and for what? For nothing. For nothing. None of this will help improve a single Filipino life,” dagdag ni Marcos Jr.
Maliban sa iniimbestigahang maling paggasta ng confidential funds ni Duterte sa Office of the Vice President at Department of Education sa House Blue Ribbon Committee, sisiyasatin din ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) ang pagbabanta niyang pagpapapatay kina Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Marcos, at Speaker Martin Romualdez sakaling mapaslang siya.
