Naniniwala si Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (Bayan) President Renato Reyes Jr. na sinasadyang iwasan ang imbestigasyon sa papel ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. sa malawakan at sistematikong korapsyon sa kanyang administrasyon kaya ibinasura ang impeachment complaints laban sa kanya.
“Mr. Marcos does not want the truth about DPWH allocables and kickbacks to come out, that is why the Justice Committee junked the impeachment complaint. He does not want to answer the charges against him at the proper forum. He does not want to explain abuses in the Unprogrammed Appropriations and his role in approving the releases for anomalous flood control projects,” ayon kay Reyes.
Ayaw aniya ni Marcos Jr, na ipaliwanag kung paano binasbasan ang paglipat ng pondo ng PhilHealth para tustusan ang flood control projects.
“He does not want to explain his role in the transfer of Philhealth funds to bankroll these flood control projects. That much is very clear from what we witnessed in the past three days,” giit niya.
Hindi na nasorpresa si Reyes Jr. sa desisyon ng House Justice Committee na ibasura ang impeachment complaints laban Marcos Jr. at malinaw na sumasalamin ito sa isang sistemang idinisenyo upang sagkaan ang pananagutan.
“The junking of the impeachment complaints by the Justice Committee is not surprising and we have warned against it early on,” ani Reyes, isa sa naghain ng ikalawang impeachment complaint laban kay Marcos Jr.
“Our complaint was subjected to legal hairsplitting and all sorts of obstructionist tactics to prevent us from moving to the next stage of the process which would require Marcos to answer the allegations against him,”dagdag niya.
Binigyang-diin ni Reyes na natugunan na ng mga nagreklamo ang mga rekisito sa unang yugto at nakahanda na sana silang ihayag ang mga ebidensya ngunit hinarang na ito para makausad.
“We were prepared to present evidence at the next stage. What was only required at the current stage was a recital of the offenses that constitute betrayal of public trust. We were able to do that in our complaint yet they blocked our complaint from moving forward,” sabi ni Reyes.
Kaya aniya naging mahalaga na iprotesta ang bulok na sistemang ito na umiiwas sa pananagutan ng mga tiwaling makapangyarihan.
“Ituloy ang protesta hanggang managot ang lahat nang sangkot. Kita-kita sa Pebrero 25,” pagtatapos niya. (ROSE NOVENARIO)
