Inilabas ng Sandiganbayan ang isang precautionary hold departure order laban kina Benguet Representative Eric Yap at kapatid na si dating ACT-CIS party-list congressman Edvic Yap.
Sinabi ito ni Assistant Ombudsman Mico Clavano sa isang kalatas.
“The issuance of this Precautionary Hold Departure Order shall be without prejudice to any resolution or finding of the Office of the Special Prosecutor in the course of their preliminary investigation,” sabi ng Sandiganbayan.
Bagama’t wala pang kasong kriminal na isinampa laban sa magkapatid na Yap, dati nang inihayag ni Ombudsman Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla na si Rep. Eric ay person of interest sa dalawang yugto ng umano’y hindi natapos na flood control projects sa La Union na nagkakahalaga ng P89.7 bawat isa.
Ani Remulla, ang contractor ng nasabing proyekto ay Silverwolves Construction, at beneficial owner nito si Rep. Eric.
Nagsilbi si Rep. Eric bilang House committee on appropriations chairman mula 2020 hanggang 2022.
Nagbitiw bilang kongresista si Edvic noong Pebrero 4, 2026. (RRN)
