CHISMIS lang ang itinatambol ni dating Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque na nakaambang pagsuspinde kay Davao City Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte dahil sa pagiging kritiko ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
“Bawal and kritiko sa panahon ng diktador,” sabi ni Roque sa kanyang vlog.
“As far as the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) is concerned, right now, there is no truth to that. It’s chismis,” tugon ni Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Benjamin Abalos sa pahayag ni Roque, base sa ulat ng Philippine Star.
“Can you ask Harry Roque where he got his information and in what department? It seems Roque is causing confusion,” dagdag ni Abalos.
Ang DILG ang kagawaran na nagpapatupad ng suspension ng mga lokal na opisyal, batay sa kautusan ng Office of the Ombudsman o provincial boards.
Sinabi ni Ombudsman Samuel Martires, walang umuusad na imbestigasyon laban kay Baste kaugnay sa anomang kaso.
”Baste has no case before the ombudsman, so how can we issue a preventive suspension?”  ani Martires.
Matatandaan hinimok kamakailan ng human rights group na Amnesty International ang administrasyong Marcos Jr. na imbestigahan si Baste bunsod ng mga drug-related killings sa Davao City.
Nabahala ang grupo sa deklarasyon ni Baste ng bagong drug war na nagresulta sa pagkamatay ng pitong katao sa loob lamang ng ilang araw. (ZIA LUNA)
