WALANG politika sa isinasagawang budget hearing ng Kongreso sa iba’t ibang kagawaran at ahensya ng pamahalaan at tungkulin ng mga mambabatas na alamin kung saan mapupunta ang pera ng bayan.
Ito ang pahayag ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. kasunod ng kontrobersyala na ‘meltdown’ ni Vice President Sara Duterte nang humarap para sa hinihiling na P2.037-bilyong Office of the Vice President budget sa 2025 sa Mababang Kapulungan.
“This is something that every single government agency has to do. So it’s a hearing. There’s no politics in it. We do it every year. We do it with the same department. We do it. That process is well-established. It has nothing to do with politics. It has to do with the budget,” sabi ni Marcos Jr. sa media interview.
Hindi raw mawari ni Marcos Jr. kung ano ang turing ni Duterte sa pagbusisi ng Kongreso sa pambansang budget gayong naayon ito sa mandato ng mga mambabatas.
“I don’t know how she can characterize these things which is essentially an information gathering exercise for the House and for the Senate so that they know what the budget will look like,” dagdag niya.
Tila wala namang epekto kay Marcos Jr. ang paghingi ng paumanhin ni Duterte sa mga miyembro ng Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) sa pagboto sa kanya noong 2022 elections.
“That’s her prerogative. I still don’t understand why but ‘yun ang — that is her… It is her wish. Wala tayong magagawa,” sabi ng Pangulo.
Mula aniya magbitiw bilang kalihim ng Department of Education si Duterte ay hindi na sila nag-usap.
“No, not at all. Not at all. The last time I spoke to her was when she handed me her resignation. Since then, we haven’t spoken,” sabi ni Marcos Jr. (ROSE NOVENARIO)
