KINANSELA ng Department of Foreign Affairs ngayong araw ang passport ni dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo.
Inihayag ng Departmeng of Foreign Affairs (DFA) na epektibo ang kanselasyon mula pa noong 30 Setyembre 2024 matapos magtugma ang biometrics ni Guo kay Chinese national Guo Hua Ping, batay sa National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) files.
Ayon sa DFA, maaaring kanselahin ang pasaporte kung ito’y nakuha sa pamamagitan ng panlilinlang, o inisyu batay sa maling mga impormasyong ibinigay.
“The DFA is committed to upholding the security and integrity of issuing Philippine passports and assures the public that fraudulent application and acquisition of passports are referred to law enforcement agencies for investigation and prosecution,” sabi ng DFA sa isang kalatas.
“The DFA enforces Zero Tolerance Policy for unscrupulous individuals circumventing the Philippine passport application and issuance procedures,” dagdag nito.
Matatandaan na hiniling ni Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin sa DFA na kanselahin ang mga pasaporte nina Guo at kanyang mga kapatid na sina Wesley Guo at Sheila Guo, at POGO representative Cassandra Ong nang tumakas sila sa bansa.(ZIA LUNA)
