KARAPATAN SA SENADO: HIRIT NA PROTEKSYON NI BATO, DAPAT TABLADO

HINIMOK ng human rights group na KARAPATAN ang Senado na huwag bigyan ng proteksyon ang “henchman” ni dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na si Sen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa matapos sabihin nito na hihilingin niya sa Senado na huwag siyang isuko sa International Criminal Court (ICC).

“We urge the Senate not to coddle criminals, and let justice take its due course, this time, should the ICC arrest dela Rosa,” ayon kay Maria Sol Taule, Karapatan Deputy Secretary General.

Inihayag ni Senator Bato na kapag hindi umubra ang lahat ng legal na remedy, nakahanda siyang samahan si Duterte upang hindi na mahirapan ang mga awtoridad sa pagtugis sa kanya gaya ng nangyari nang dakpin si Apollo Quiboloy.

“We could feel Bato’s knees shaking by now after the arrest of Duterte yesterday. He thought he will forever enjoy impunity, but the tables have turned quickly. He might as well enjoy the remaining days of his freedom because he is next to pay for his sins to the Filipino people, ” ani Taule.

Si Senator Bato ay nagkaroon ng mahlagang papel sa drug war ni Duterte bilang may-akda ng Oplan Tokhang, Oplan Double Barrel at ni walang pagsisi na ipinakita.

Napaulat na isa siya sa limang “persons of interest’ na iniimbestigahan ng ICC dahil sa pakikipagsabwatan kay Duterte upang isakatuparan ang “mass murders” na naging tatak ng kanilang drug war, ayon sa Karapatan.

Ginaya anila ni Senator Bato ang kayabangan ng kanyang amo at binalewala ang hiling ng ICC para sa isang panayam.

“But now, the shit has hit the fan for the Duterte camp. Senator Bato’s name will likely be on the next warrants to be issued by the ICC, and we just can’t wait,” pagtatapos ni Taule. (ZIA LUNA)
