Dapat panagutin din ang mga opisyal ng Palasyo, pati si Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., kung naniniwala ang Ombudsman sa kredibilidad ng testimonya ng mga dating bodyguard ni dating Ako Bicol Rep. Zaldy Co o tinaguriang “Maleta Boys” laban kay dating House Speaker Martin Romualdez, ayon kay dating Bayan Muna Rep. Carlos Zarate.
“At the very least, kung ‘yung mga testimonya ng witnesses na ito ay nagsabi na nagdala sila ng male-maletang pera kay Speaker Romualdez, tinanggap ng Ombudsman bilang kapani-paniwala, bakit hindi ito kapani-paniwala sa mga opisyal ng Palasyo, kasama na si Presidente Marcos?” sabi niya sa programang Alab Analysis.
Kinompirma ni Asst. Ombudsman Mico Clavano na ang testimonya ng 18 ex-bodyguards ni Co ang naging basehan ng Ombudsman sa pagsasampa ng plunder case laban kay Romualdez.
“18 of them came out with statements that they have personally delivered money for Zaldy Co to former Speaker Martin Romualdez which is why the subject of this case is P7.4-B. They are able to say because of the number of deliveries made, the total amount could have reached P56-B. So these people, the 18 are able to account for P7.4-B of the P56-57-B,” sabi ni Clavano sa podcast ni Pia Hontiveros. # (RRN)
