NAGSAGAWA ng kilos-protesta ang grupong PAMALAKAYA sa harap ng Department of Agriculture bilang paggunita sa World Fisheries Day ngayon at hilingin kay Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu-Laurel Jr. na tutulan ang reclamation projects sa Manila Bay at iba pang bahagi ng bansa.
Hinikayat ng PAMALAKAYA si Tiu-Laurel Jr. na bawiin ang 420-hectare Bacoor City reclamation project ng Frabelle Fishing Corp., ang negosyo ng pamilya ng kalihim ng agrikultura.
Isinasagawa ng Frabelle ang massive reclamation project kasama ang Bacoor City government at Diamond Export Corp.
Kaugnay nito, nanawagan si Commission on Appointments (CA) Assistant Minority leader at Surigao del Sur Rep. Johnny Pimentel sa publiko na isumite sa CA secretariat ang anomang “information, written report, or sworn/notarized complaints or oppositions” sa mga isasalang na presidential appointees para sa confirmation hearing.
“We would urge the public to submit to the CA Secretariat any information, written report, or sworn/notarized complaints or oppositions to the appointees,” ani Pimentel sa isang kalatas.
Si Tiu-Laurel at Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa ang dalawang miyembro ng gabinete kasama ang iba pang 57 presidential appointees ay naghihintay ng petsa ng kanilang confirmation hearing.
“Secretary Laurel and Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa are on top of the new batch of 57 presidential appointees – mostly foreign service officers – awaiting their confirmation hearings,” sabi ni Pimentel. (Larawan mula sa Pamalakaya FB page)
