SI Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. ang magpapasya kung papasukin ang mga kinatawan ng International Criminal Court (ICC) sa Pilipinas para imbestigahan ang patayan sa madugong Duterte drug war.
Sinabi ito ni Manila 5th District Rep. at House Committee on Human Rights Chairman Benny Abante, may-akda sa isa sa tatlong resolution na nag-uudyok sa lahat ng departamento at ahensya ng pamahalaan na makipagtulungan sa pagsisiyasat ng ICC sa Duterte drug war.
“Hindi pa ho natin napuntahan (BBM). Ang sa amin lang po eh we are asking the President to allow the ICC. It’s up to the President kung papakinggan niya ang kongreso tungkol diyan. In the first place, hindi pa naman talaga approved ito ng buong congress. This is just a resolution in the committee level and the committee level will still aprove it and afterwards` will to the plenary for the vote. Saka lamang ibibigay sa ating Pangulo and the President must make a decision after that kung talagang i-allow niya ang ICC,” sabi ni Abante sa panayam sa programang Sa Totoo Lang sa One News kagabi.
Iginiit niya na personal na krusada ang resolution, walang kinalaman ito sa personalidad at walang nagdikta sa kanya para ihain ito
“NUP (National Unity Party) did not advise me not to or even advise me to. This is for me, perhaps a personal crusade on my party. Being the chairman of the Committee on Human Rights,” anang mambabatas.
“Wala naman ako nakalagay na personality diyan . In fact, I really made even emphasis na we adhere to the principle of the rule of law. So, ito po prinispyo lang po. Hindi ito personality.” (ZIA LUNA)
