HINATULAN ng “reclusion temporal” o walong taon at walong buwan hanggang 16 na taong pagkabilanggo ng Las Pinas Trial Court ang self-confessed gunman sa kaso ng pagpatay sa batikang broadcaster na si Percival “Percy Lapid” Mabasa na si Joel Escorial.
Nabatid ito sa kapatid ni Percy na si Roy Mabasa sa kanyang paskil sa Facebook ngayon.
“Joel Escorial, who admitted to being the gunman in the case involving Percival Mabasa, also known as “Percy Lapid,” received a sentence of eight years and eight months to 16 years imprisonment from Judge Cesar Huliganga in Las Piñas,” ayon kay Roy.
Bilang kasapakat sa pagpatay kay Percy, si Escorial ay mananatili sa kostodiya ng PNP Custodial Center hanggang sa paglilitis kay Christoper Bacoto, isa pang kasabwat sa krimen.
“As an accomplice to the murder, Escorial will stay in the custody of the PNP Custodial Center until the trial of Christoper Bacoto, another alleged accomplice, concludes. Bacoto is implicated in the crime as well,” sabi ni Roy.
Habang hinggil sa isa sa mastermind sa kaso na si Ricardo Zulueta, na pumanaw kamakailan, sinabi ni Judge Huliganga sa abogado nito na tugunan ang hirit ng prosecutor para sa isang autopsy bunsod ng mga pagdududa sa sanhi ng kanyang pagmatay.
“Concerning Ricardo Zulueta, Judge Huliganga directed his counsel to address the prosecutors’ request for an autopsy due to doubts about the circumstances of Zulueta’s alleged death in Bataan.”
Pinaghahanap pa hanggang ngayon ng mga awtoridad si dating Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) chief Gerard Bantag, itinurong mastermind ng mga kapwa niya akusado. (ROSE NOVENARIO)
