WALANG direktiba sa Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) na buwagin ang Task Force Davao.
Iginiit ito ni Col. Francel Margareth Padilla, AFP Spokesperson, kasunod ng pahayag ni dating human rights lawyer Harry Roque na bubuwagin ang Task Force Davao dahil loyal ang mga miyembro nito kay dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.
Nilinaw ni Padilla na kaya nagpunta sa Davao si AFP Chief of Staff Gen. Romeo Brawner ay para tiyakin na maayos ang pag-ayuda ng militar sa mga biktima ng pagbaha sa lugar at hindi upang magsagawa ng loyalty check sa mga sundalo.
Sinabi ni Roque noong Linggo, hindi siya nakatulog matapos siyang tawagan ni Duterte noong Sabado para iulat na na anomang oras ay aarestohin ang dating pangulo ng International Criminal Court (ICC).
Nahaharap sa kasong crimes against humanity si Duterte bunsod ng madugong drug war na kanyang ipinatupad.
“Now of course I sniffed around for what is happening in Davao. Well, it seems like there is truth in what he said because I gathered news that Task Force Davao would be disbanded. They know that this Task Force Davao is loyal to the Dutertes. So it seems that there was — well, that’s the buzz now — that Task Force Davao will be disbanded,” sabi ni Roque sa kanyang Facebook live noong Linggo.
Itinatag ang Task Force Davao Task Force Davao noong 16 Abril 2003, matapos ang pag-atake ng mga terorista sa Davao International Airport at Sasa Wharf sa Davao City ng taong iyon. (ROSE NOVENARIO)
